There is a Silver Lining in the End

Well the Olympics came to an end last night in snowy Vancouver and I for one will miss the games. I watched as much of the contests as possible over the last 2 weeks but my focus was on the men's hockey. Growing up playing and loving the sport my mind will forever have the 80's men's team etched deep within it. Not many people gave the USA team much hope this year since there were a lot of younger players chosen this time around to represent out great country. Well when the ice was cleared and the goals counted we came up one short! Not to bad for a team that didn't even finish in the top 5 the last go around. Hat's off to the boys and salute to a great Canada team! Sid the kid sealed the deal for team Canada and ended what was a great run by team USA! Well if we were going to lose I soon be it to the Country that invented the game and not the dreaded Russians or the finesse plagued Fins. Well I will be looking forward to the next Winter Wonder Games in 2014 in mother Russia.

Is Spring ever going to show it's warmer temperatures? Seems like we are stuck in this perpetual 30-40 degree range. Come on where is the Global Warming thing I keep hearing about!
By the way FYI: Daylight Saving Time always begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November. That means that the first day of spring in 2010 is March 20.

The Chile Quake death toll is over 700 now and still rising keep them in your prayers!

Finally, the Cardinals are heating things up down in sunny Florida and I am ready for a little baseball. Nothing better then the smell of fresh cut grass and the smell of BBQ as the sound of the Cardinals baseball drifts across my deck.

Ok, well being Monday it means work! yuck so I suppose I should get ready to do a little.

Snowy Sunday

Good Sunday morning everyone! It's a good day just to hang out watch some movies, read a good book or just sleep on the couch. Looking forward to watching some Olympics today and hopefully the U.S.A can keep racking up some medals. Yesterday produced the first gold medals for the U.S
America's Hannah Kearney won the women's moguls freestyle skiing title on Saturday, denying host nation Canada its first gold of the Games
Not sure if anyone wasa paying attention to the Women's Hockey but host Canada put down a good old fashioned home whoopin on the Slovakia womens hockey team 18-0 OUCH! Although don't feel to bad for the Slovs, Despite being outshot 67-9 Saturday Slovakia knows what it feels like to be on the other end of a lopsided score - in one of their exhibition games leading up to the Olympics they beat Bulgaria 82-0 in Latvia.

The Blues won a third straight game beating the Washington Capitals last night in a shootout 4-3! Nice job boys too bad there is a 2 week Olympic break. We need to keep this roll going to make the playoff push.

Go U.S.A. !

Happy Sunday

Friday is here and so is the Olympics!

Well the Olympics are here and I for one am excited. I love the Winter Olympics with the down hill skiing and hockey and all of the other fun stuff a person can dream of doing in the snow. So for the next 2 weeks I will be glued to the TV every chance I can get to see all of the pagentry and glory of the 2010 event. I just wonder how in the heck Vancouver can pull off a better opening ceremony then the one that the Chinese did 2 years ago? I am posting below the list of games.I will post a Schedule of events later today if I can find a good one. Enjoy!

Alpine skiing Biathlon Bobsleigh Cross-country skiing Curling Figure skating
Freestyle skiing Ice hockey Luge Nordic combined Short track speed skating

Weekend is almost here!

Hello everyone and happy Thursday! Well another work for most of us is in the books and hope everyone has had a great week. Not much cooking here but wanted to at least post something and make sure if anyone has actually read any of the previous posts, knows I'm still alive lol!

Rams seem to have a possible new owner and sounds like a good deal for the city. He is a local business owner from Illinois who has strong ties to the community apparently and grew up and went to school across the river. Need to keep a close eye on this because it would seem to ensure the Rams staying in the city which is great news for everyone!

Well I hope everyone has a great Thursday evening and TGIAF! Thank God It's Almost Friday!

Morning Campers!

Good Monday morning Campers! Welcome to another work week and more snow! With another Super Bowl in the books! Who Dat! We turn our eyes towards Spring time and warmer temperatures. I posted a pic above to keep everyone warm today hope it helps!

Well the Saints are Super Bowl Champs and I for one thought the game was a pretty entertaining one. I know I picked the Colts to win and cover in an earlier post but my heart was with the Saints and Drew Brees! This is another reason I am not a betting man. But I would place a bet that the city of New Orleans was the Nations Party Capital well into the early morning hours. I heard Washington D.C. was shut down today due to the mega storm that hit over the weekend but I am pretty sure New Orleans is shut down due to one mega hangover! Congrats! Saints! WHO DAT!

Finally, I posted some youtube videos of current and past Super Bowl commercials to brighten your dreary Monday! Enjoy!

Super Bowl Sunday Who Dat!

Well the time is almost here for the big game! Food is being prepared, drinks are being chilled and friends are gathering for the biggest game of the year. I don't know about you but I'm pretty stoked for the game and everything that goes with it. And the Hitman is going with the Colts and over not that I'm a betting man but you can't bet against Peyton when you give him 2 weeks to prepare for a game. I hope you all enjoy the game and be safe and responsible.

The Blues lost a big one last night to the rival Chicago Blackhawks. Did anyone think that they were going to win after beating Chicago 4 nights ago in Chicago? Well there is still a chance for the inconsistent Blues team to pull it together but time is running out boys!

Don't forget the "Biggest Loser Contest" going on at All Star DCJ! Check out this weeks winners and losers at our Facebook site. Link is to the left on this page! Go check out the guys and see how each one fared this week.

OMG Everyone Panic!

Just read the latest weather forecast and they are calling for 2 to 4 inches of the white stuff! Everyone hurry to the grocery store and stock up on Milk Eggs and Bread because apparently when it snows everyone makes french toast.

The Blues won a big game in Chicago last night beating the Blackhawks who happen to have the best home record in the NHL this season. Nice job guys lets keep the playoff drive going! Hopefully they keep playing up tempo hockey and the upper management makes a move before the trade deadline March 3rd.

Only a few days left to the next weigh in for All Star DCJ "Biggest Loser Contest" Who will be this weeks winner? Keep track of the guys at our Facebook Page there is a link on the left side of this blog.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Well it seems like we are destined for 6 more weeks of winter according to the little furry guy in Pennsylvania.

Phil saw his shadow apparently and mumbled something to the extent that he wants me to suffer another 6 weeks of cold and dreary days! I wonder if my wife would be upset with a Stuffed Groundhog above our fireplace? I hear they taste like chicken!

Who Dat! Drew Breeeeezzzeee that's right less then one week now until the big game and the Hitman is predicting an upset! Drew Breeze and the Saints are going down to Miami to dismantle the highly favored Colts and Peyton Manning.

Hey guys! don't forget Valentines Day is a week from this coming Sunday! Start planning now so your not in the doghouse come the 15th which by the way is a Monday! That would be starting the week out with the old double whammy! Monday and the Doghouse is a very bad combination trust me!

I'm out be good and be safe!

Bye January Hello February

Well happy Monday campers! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Another month in the books and February is here once again. Can warmer weather be far behind? I sure hope not because I am ready for spring and Cardinals Baseball! If that Groundhog knows whats best for him he will not see his shadow tomorrow morning or I might have to hunt him down myself.

Ok so did anyone watch the Pro-bowl? Was it just me or did the stadium look half full at times? If you didn't hear golfer John Daly is calling it quits, maybe Tiger can hook up with him and pound a few beers and hang out. Is Tim Tebow the answer to the Rams woes? I don't think he is worth taking that high in the draft and would certainly be a major project for an NFL team. In fact I don't think he will be a QB in the league but what do I know?

Well as you might have guessed I did not watch the Pro-bowl but instead turned my interests to the Grammy Awards last night. Thank god my children didn't watch the show with me. I think there might have been some sort of contest amongst the stars to see who could wear the most provocative outfit. The theme seemed to be less is more. And who is Lady Gaga? Damm I must be getting old!

Well I am out don't work to hard today and don't forget to check out the *Biggest Loser Contest" on the All Star DCJ Facebook page the link is over on the left of this page. Congrats! to Matt Harmon for winning the second week of the competition.

Groundhog Day

Happy Saturday! For those of you out there that like a good comedy I highly recommend the movie Groundhog Day. It was made back in 1993 and stars Bill Murry and Andi MacDowell. It was actually directed by Harold Ramis of Ghostbusters fame. It is the story of a weather man(Murry)covering ground hog day in the tiny hamlet of Punxsutawney Pennsylvania. His producer(Macdowell)travels with him for the live remote covering the famous little critter looking for his shadow. The quaint little town provides the perfect backdrop for this hilarious comedy in which Murry falls for Macdowell all the while reliving groundhog day over and over. If you enjoy a good clean comedy and get a chance this weekend rent this movie or check your local TV listings.

Happy Retirement to Mr. Kurt Warner. Thank you for all the good times you provided us here in good old St.Lou and for being a genuine person. We wish you all the best in your new life and look forward to seeing you on future NFL broadcasts.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend and if you get a chance check out the Auto Show going on until Sunday evening. Be good and be safe!

TGIF

Wow is it cold this morning but no Snow Yeah!!!!!! Sounds like however we will be getting some by the end of the afternoon and evening hours. For those of your South of St. Louis be careful you guys are going to get some heavy stuff today!

Jim Edmonds not going to be a Cardinal after all. Looks like Jimmy Ballgame has signed a Minor league contract with the Brewers. Did anyone really think this was a good idea to sign him? He didn't play at all last year and at his age a whole year off can be a significant factor in the level of play. Good Luck Jimmy we love you and wish you the best! Hope he doesn't become a Cardinal Killer this year but I highly doubt it.

The St. Louis Auto Show is this week and is in full swing at the Jones Dome. Hope you all can go down and enjoy the sights and fantastic concept vehicles on display.

Well the City of St. Peters has withdrawn a proposal to shoot off fireworks legally on the 4th of July. I for one would have loved to not worry for one day and been able to shoot off a few rockets red glare. Oh well maybe they will revisit this issue later. I don't think either way that it will keep the masses from enjoying a little firework activity this Fourth. It hasn't in the past anyway.

Well the Clydesdales maybe hoofing it to the Superbowl! At least some Representative from our City is going to the Big Game!

After you come in and purchase your new or preowned vehicle this weekend you can head to the Chili Cookoff in St. Charles. Called the Fire and Ice Chili Cookoff I think the name says it all!

Happy Friday! Be safe out there and be nice! I'm Out!

Ok I'm a Slacker

Ok I have to admit I am a total slacker and pretty much forgot I even started this blog when I came to work at the dealership. So I apologize and promise to be a better blogger from here on out. Having said that here we go!

If you haven't checked out our Facebook page you need to do so. It's alot of fun with articles on the dealership and pictures of the staff and some other wacky stuff. Right now the Sales Staff has the "biggest loser competition" so check it out here: http://ru-ru.facebook.com/pages/Bridgeton-MO/All-Star-Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep/202458186901#/pages/Bridgeton-MO/All-Star-Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep/202458186901?v=wall

Toyota recall surprises me a little after all they never break down and never have quality issues. Hummmm?

Super Bowl frenzy for the next week and a half or so omg can they dissect one game anymore then they do this one? Two weeks of listening to all of the hype is way too long. Anyway we all know Indy's going to win this one hands down! Who Dat? Peyton Manning!

Check back often I promise not to be a slacker from here on out!
